Shopping on the eastern side of Exmoor

The main towns for shopping on the eastern side of Exmoor are:

Minehead, Watchet, Dunster and Bampton.

Minehead is the main town on this side of the moor and has some well-known shops as well as a Tourist Information Centre. It has the terminus for the West Somerset Railway and a charming old harbour. It is also the start of the South West Coast Path.

Watchet is an ancient harbour town with a choice of small shop. It nestles between Exmoor and the Quantock Hills.

Dunster is a pretty village overlooked by its castle. Its main street is reminiscent of its past with old hotels and shops and the unique yarn market building in the middle. It hosts one of the Exmoor National Park Visitor Centres.

Bampton is an old Exmoor village on the southern edge of the moor. It has a selection of small shops, a 12C church and a history of mining.
